Invisalign

Invisalign Glen Waverley

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment for people with an irregular bite or tooth irregularity.

Invisalign improves the alignment of their teeth by using clear, removable aligners. This helps align the teeth. Unlike orthodontic braces, Invisalign doesn’t require the use of metal or wires, and it is almost invisible.

Treatable Cases

Invisalign is perfect for patients who are uncomfortable wearing metal braces, especially teenagers. Invisalign is also best for patients with extreme teeth spacing issue.

Patients with improper spacing between their teeth are also suited for Invisalign. However, those with small teeth and large spaces are better suited for dental veneers.

Overcrowded Teeth. Overcrowded teeth is a common problem in both adults and children. This is when the teeth overlap and twist. The jaw may be too small for the teeth, or the teeth may be too large.

Cleft lip or palate can also cause overcrowded teeth. If ignored, teeth crowding can lead to crooked teeth or other dental issues.

Overbite. An overbite happens when your upper jaw overlaps your lower jaw. It is common to have a slight overbite of just one or two millimetres, but others have more severe bite issues. A deep overbite is when the overlap between the upper and lower teeth is more noticeable.

Underbite. An underbite happens when your lower teeth grow outward farther than the upper front teeth. This condition is also called prognathism. Prognathism creates a bulldog-like appearance in the mouth and face.

Crossbite. Crossbite is a form of malocclusion in which a tooth (or teeth) has a more buccal (closer to the cheek) or lingual position (closer to the tongue) than its corresponding opposite tooth in the upper or lower dental arch. In short, crossbite is a lateral misalignment of the dental arches.

Gap Teeth. A gap between two teeth is called a diastema. These spaces can form anywhere in the mouth, but are most noticeable between the two upper front teeth. Gap teeth are commonly caused by thumb-sucking.

Open Bite. Open bite is a type of malocclusion, or “bad bite,” that may require an orthodontic interception to correct. An open bite happens when the upper and lower teeth are unable to meet with each other when the jaws are closed.

How your clear aligners are made at Preston Supreme Dental

After dental examinations like X-rays, 3D digital imaging, and teeth impressions, your dentist at Preston Supreme will create a model of your mouth.

The model will be used to develop a program to align your teeth in the best way possible. The Invisalign Company will customise your aligners for you. You will use new sets of aligners every two weeks.
